Hemlock Ridge Charters (whittieralaskacharters.com) is located a scenic 1 hour drive south of Anchorage, Alaska in the town of Whittier, Alaska. Whittier, Alaska is the gateway to the beautiful waters of Prince William Sound. Hemlock Ridge Charters is one of the best and oldest fishing charters located in Whittier, Alaska. We have spent 12 years honing our fishing skills for Halibut, Salmon, Lingcod, and Rockfish, in and around Prince William Sound. We have been very successful and offer you one of the most enjoyable fishing trips in Alaska. The fishing is very good and the overall experience is among the best Alaska has to offer. We offer a variety of charter packages. Walk on day charters, Private full boat charters, 2 day fishing trips. Large group charters using several different boats. Spring and Fall week long hunting trips.
NEW ALASKA FISHING CHARTER OPTION:
Hemlock Ridge Charters of Alaska is now offering overnight fishing charters aboard the 36' Longview. These fishing trips are 2 days and one night. This type of Fishing Charter is more productive than the typical day fishing charter. We can spend more time at the prime fishing areas instead of traveling to and from them. Prince William Sound Alaska is a beautiful and wild place with Halibut, Salmon, Lingcod and Rockfish available for you to catch. We will spend the night in a secluded Prince William Sound bay, enjoying the wilderness, while cooking some fresh caught fish. These fishing trips are for four [4] or less people. The Longview has a Galley, Shower, Lavatory, and Sleeping facilities for 4 people. The dinner meal and breakfast is provided.
HALIBUT FISHING: We have a very good Halibut fishery. The fishing is very good from early May through September. There are many Halibut caught over 200# every year. The average size is 20# to 30#. We limit the boat about 95% of the trips.
SALMON FISHING: We have Chinook, Coho, Sockeye, Chum and Pinks. Coho's are available from early July to late August. Chums and Sockeye are available from late May through July. Chinook (Kings) are available from May through August, but they are not in great numbers. Pink Salmon are available July through September.
ROCK FISH FISHING: We are very fortunate to have some of the best Rock Fish fishing in the world. World record class Yelloweye are caught on a regular basis. There are many species of Rock fish available in Prince William Sound and they are wonderful eating. Most days we catch numerous Rockfish while targeting Halibut.
LINGCOD FISHING: Lings are available after July 1. The fishing is very good, with many fish in the 50 pound class. Lings are very good eating and fun to catch.
Whittier, Alaska is growing and has several very good restaurants. There is very good lodging available should you wish to stay in Whittier. There is a very good fish processing facility available to vacuum pack your catch and ship it home for you. Please join us in 2013 or future years.
